Amongst the cluster of homes in Bareilly, India resides the amusing Mishra family. The only 'life loving' daughter of theirs - Bitti Mishra (Kriti Sanon) works at the electricity board, is a casual smoker, watches English movies and loves breakdance. Bitti's free spiritedness does not translate in finding a suitable groom and she resigns to being a misfit in this small-town - Bareilly. The complexities of getting married and feeling pressured, impulsive Bitty decides to run away from home. At the railway book stall, she stumbles upon a novel called 'Bareily Ki Barfi'. Surprisingly the female protagonist of the novel reads exactly like her. Is there someone like her too in this closeted town or someone who really knows and understands her?

The music of the film is composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Tanishk Bagchi, Samira Koppikar, Sameer Uddin and Vayu while the lyrics of the film have been penned by Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Tanishk Bagchi, Shabbir Ahmed, Puneet Sharma, Abhishek Verma and Vayu. Its first song "Sweety Tera Drama" which is sung by Dev Negi, Pawni Pandey and Shraddha Pandit was released on 24 July 2017. The second song "Nazm Nazm" which is sung by Arko Pravo Mukherjee was released on 31st July 2017. The third song to be released was "Twist Kamariya" which is sung by Harshdeep Kaur, Yaseer Desai, Tanishk Bagchi and Altamash Faridi was released on 8 August 2017. The soundtrack was released on 11th August 2017 by Zee Music Company which consists of 8 songs in total.
